If you're looking for something sweet...

QOTD: One time I accidentally drank an entire bottle of vinegar. I thought it was terrible wine. Once I went out with a guy who wore 3-D glasses the entire evening. Oh, one time I rode in a sidecar on a guy's motorcycle, and the sidecar detached and went down a flight of stairs. Another time I went to a really boring movie with a guy and while I was asleep he tried to pull out one of my teeth. I literally woke up with his hand in my mouth. We went out a couple times after that but then he got weird.

I was feeling a bit down the other day and didn't know what to do with myself - probably chocolate withdrawal symptoms. I'm feeling a bit glum because I'm in the midst of a new diet, I've finally admitted to myself that my clothes are not shrinking and that I have in fact put on a few pounds (okay - a lot of pounds). So that means no sugary drinks (aargh - I'm addicted to Pepsi), no fun food (why even go the movies if you can't have popcorn?) and hauling my ass out of bed at an ungodly hour to do - shudder - aerobics. I've taken to driving past fast food places, opening the car window and just sniffing. Yeah, so very pathetic.

Anyway, I asked a friend to recommend me something funny and absolutely nothing that would make me cry. And she suggested the Cindy Eller series by Elizabeth A Reeves. I started with How (Not) to Kiss a Toad and I was hooked from the first few pages - couldn't put it down. I've already downloaded the rest in the series. A heroine who turns men into toads when she kisses them and who bakes the most delicious sounding cakes in the world - what's not to love? Although it did kind of make me hungry...

So if you're like me and every now and again you just want to something sweet to curl up with - give it a try! Oh and the rather long quote of the day is from Parks and Recreation - I heart Leslie Knope and her terrible parade of former dates!
